Mountain Sweet Cicely

from $70.00

Mountain Sweet Cicely, Osmorhiza berteroi, grows throughout California's wooded and forested areas from sea level to high mountain elevations, as well as across much of western and northern North America. This aromatic perennial herb can exceed three feet in height and produces delicate compound umbels of tiny white flowers in late spring.

The plant serves as a specialized host for the California endemic prodoxid moth, Greya reticulata, whose larvae feed exclusively on its bristly, elongated fruits.

Each print is made by the artist using archival quality pigment ink on Moab's Entrada Rag Bright 300 paper.
