Western Buttercup

from $70.00

Western Buttercup, Ranunculus occidentalis, is a bright little gem native to western North America from Alaska to California.

It serves as an excellent early-season pollen and nectar source, making it vitally important for native pollinators. Its shiny, yellow flowers attract various bee species including sweat bees, mining bees, mason bees, and bumblebees, as well as butterflies and hoverflies. This early-blooming wildflower is particularly valuable when few other native plants are providing nectar.

Made by the artist using archival quality pigment ink on Moab's Moenkopi Unryu 55, a beautiful Japanese washi paper.
